Tools, p.2

I compiled some of my favorite emotional regulation tools into a booklet for my clients - I am sharing it here, too, in case you need it. My belief (and professional opinion) is that “skills” or “tools” can be helpful in managing symptoms and reducing reactivity, but that they are by no means a substitute for psychotherapeutic exploration, discovery, and processing. Lasting change and growth can only come when obstacles are removed, not buried, ignored, or powered through.
